San Antonio

Garrett and I drove to San Antonio to spend some labor-free time there.

There were many street vendors near "El Mercado" selling Lucha Libre masks for children.

I posed with this conquistador outside the Spanish Governor's Palace.

The remains of Travis, Crockett, and Bowie -- the heroes of the Alamo -- are located at San Fernando Cathedral. A nice air-conditioned stop on our travels!

The River Walk was beautiful and hot, as expected! We considered taking the boat tour, but the path beside the river was much shadier than the path in the water. We enjoyed some tasty Mexican food and mariachi music. Hasta luego, San Antonio!

Good-bye, New Zealand!

Today I fly back to Texas! I've had a wonderful time in New Zealand, but I am eager to return to the familiar surroundings, routines, and amenities of home. At last I will no longer be (literally) living out of a suitcase!

Garrett's program lasts one more week in Auckland, and then he has another week to explore more of New Zealand (or perhaps Australia). He is jealous that I get to go back to the States now!

There's no place like home!

Waipu

Here is the last batch of photos of our road trip adventure! We explored Waipu Cave and its glowworms on our own!

Egmont and Tongariro National Parks

We saw majestic volcanic mountains on this day, but it was too cold to enjoy any good hiking! What can we say? We prefer the Floridian climate! We came... We saw... We took photos... We left!

Otaki Forks and Waverley Beach

When you come to Otaki Forks in the road, take it!
